Hit my theme music!  Just kidding....

Thanks, Bob, for putting up this forum.  I do know a lot about running forums, so if you ever need any help, let me know.

My name is Chris, but I typically go by the name Effzeeone on the various photography forums (DPReview, Steve's, DCResource, etc.).  For those who aren't Panasonic fans, my username is Effzeeone due to owning a Panasonic DMC-FZ1.  Little did I know that Panasonic would start churning out FZ models like there was no tomorrow...!

Howver, I did keep and use my FZ1 much longer than most (I still have it and use it for IR photography).  About a year ago, I set the trusty FZ1 aside and bought an Olympus E-500 DSLR, and dove into learning it over the next year.  During that year I discovered something -- DSLRs are a pain!  To keep up with things, it cost a fortune -- making it through lens cravings isn't very easy!  I also discovered that I was missing the image stabilization of my wonderful little FZ1.  So, recently I traded in the Olympus DSLR system (sold it on eBay) and bought the latest and greatest Panasonic FZ -- the FZ50.  Love the camera, and can't wait to get some time to go out and about in St. Johns (Duval, etc.) and put it to full use.

I relocated to St. Augustine from Gainesville about 12 years ago as a family of four (wife and two children -- twins!).  We're now a family of six (two more boys), and after moving around a few different homes in St. Augustine, we are now permanently planted in Nocatee in Ponte Vedra.

I'm a retired network engineer, but I only retired to move on to my next career -- house-husband and stay-at-home dad.  One would think that would allow me a lot of time for my photography hobby (especially with all the kids in school now), but I honestly think I would have more time if I was still a network engineer.  The hours are a little longer with this stay-at-home dad stuff.

Anywho....that's me in a nutshell.  Good luck with the site and I hope it gets really popular.  I'll add what I can when I can to it!

I never can understand why I can run around in this area. and see so few folks out there with a camera. We are in a target rich environment for sure.
It's all mindset, I once took a pic of a blossom on a green bean vine, and someone said, "I've never heard of anyone taking a picture of a green bean flower before"!  Well, it was a really pretty flower, and it was there! Very Happy
