The master gardeners are getting the arboretum back in fine shape for spring, things are looking great. There will be some new plantings and some old favorites.
Joe has the east end of the pond bank harrowed, there will be a massed wildflower planting there, that will be pretty to see. I'd love to see some Pickerel Rush and maybe some Wapato planted in the shallows, and some Cat Tails. Plants like these can really make the pond habitat attract more wildlife.
I don't guess most landscapers look at things from the viewpoint of a photographer, if you carry a camera for a while you find yourself thinking about light angles before you even find a subject. You just head for the side of things that puts the Sun behind you, automatically. Nothing more frustrating than to find a "keep of the grass" sign right where you need to be!

I'm glad the place is getting into full swing!
A family member is taking the class (MG) this season, If she can qualify, she says.. I never heard of that lol.. In other states they take your money set ya up with the books and there you have it..
Never thought to take it myself.. Bragging here; I could probably teach the class..
But I hope they get their monies worth there..
The best incentive for the County's program is that the graduated students must volunteer a certain amount of hours to the community.. And that includes working the arboretum! |

Last year they sort of tried for an "English Garden" effect, it was pretty but didn't work for me, I like some sand in my beer, LOL! The delicate pastels get washed out by the Sun. _________________ tsiya |
