Not the kind you hear, but you can see it under some conditions, little splotches that make the pic look muddy and dull. Some cameras are more prone to noise than others. It can be hard to correct without losing detail you really want. The real answer is a big DSLR, but the rest of us got to run with what we have.
I used the freebie version of Neat Image on this. The noise wasn't too bad to begin with, until I enlarged the pic, just little off color splotches in that bright blue sky!

| You can install it in photoshop, as a plugin, or use it alone. Check out the last one I sent to your email. I used the lasso tool to outline the petals, added some sharp, kicked the exposure and saturation a little, then used neat image, just took a few minutes. When you circle an area with the lasso tool, only the image inside will be affected by adjustments, or you can choose "inverse" and the stuff outside will be changed. |
